Following on from their recently announced UK tour as support to Velvet Revolver McQueen have just announced that they are to support Finnish rockers HIM on their forthcoming Australian and New Zealand tour dates. The tour kicks off on March 23rd at Metro City Perth, 25th Big Top Sydney, 27th Festival Hall Melbourne, 29th Tivoli Brisbane and 31st Powerstation, Auckland.

Last year saw the release of McQueen's extremely well received debut album "Break the Silence" on Newcastle based Independent Rock label Demolition Records , Backstage Alliance(Finland) and Rubber Soul (Australia/NZ).

Combining equal amounts of aggression, musicianship and melody McQueen have

forged their own unique sound and always looked to innovate rather than emulate.
Fronted by the enigmatic and slightly unhinged Leah Duors they have a front-woman who captivates and amuses at the same time. Throw in a killer gravel pit voice; add Hayley Cramer's incendiary drumming style and the crunch of Cat De Cassanove's guitar and you have the McQueen sound.

The album was produced by up and coming producer Richie Kayvan in between a healthy touring schedule that's spanned the last three years. Tracks were then ferried to the U.S. Studio of one 'Evil' Joe Barresi (producer of QOTSA Tool and Zico Chain) to mix and add his magical sheen.

Since forming in November 2003 Brighton based band have been busy taking their frantic live set around the World - from the coolest clubs on LA's Sunset Strip to soccer stadiums in Vietnam as well as opening for legendary rockers Aerosmith in London's Hyde Park last summer.

McQueen have slogged it out with the likes of Juliette and the Licks, Wednesday 13, Viking Skull, and WASP on tour as well as playing shows with The Foo Fighters through to acts as diverse as the Towers of London, The Mad Capsule Markets and the Kaiser Chiefs .The band even appeared on the tour to promote the Dirty Sanchez movie.
'Break The Silence' has been warmly received around the globe, garnering accolades from the press, radio and TV. Tracks have been used in video games such as World Rally Championship and numerous extreme sports DVDs and the album has clocked up sales to date of over 25,000 off the back of their heavy and constant touring schedule.

The next few months will see the band writing and recording a new album in between the traditionally hectic live schedule. There will also be some very exciting and off the wall musical collaborations - watch this space!

Here's what the UK rock press has had to say about McQueen:

Leah Duors' confrontational strut comes across like she's ready to take on the whole world. Their aim is to recreate pure Sunset Strip sleaze, an eyeliner smeared Duors' whisky-sodden voice snarling over punchy rock n' roll.' KERRANG!

McQueen play filthy punk rock, chock full of the type of catchy riffs and anthemic choruses that the music scene has been lacking so severely recently.' BIG CHEESE

These sisters have wasted no time in doing it for themselves, showing up their counterparts whether male or female in the process. They're hell bent on putting the grittiness back into female-led rock n’roll.' ROCK SOUND
